Angus Ledgerwood is a lyric tenor who is based in Sydney, Australia. He has worked with Pacific Opera Studio as a Young Artist in both 2024 and 2022. Angus has worked with Gilbert and Sullivan Opera Sydney, Carols In The Domain and Prague Summer Nights Festival. Notable performances include Ralph Rackstraw in H.M.S. Pinafore, Basilio in Le Nozze di Figaro, Alfred in Die Fledermaus and Tenor Soloist in Mozart’s Requiem.
Angus has two Masters degrees from The Sydney Conservatorium of Music, the first in Performance and the second in Opera Performance. While studying, he was awarded the George Henderson Scholarship and the Costa Rosa Harsas Award. Angus also has an extensive background in the Alto Saxophone, having studied under Mark Walton and earning his AmusA in 2011.
Angus is the winner of the 2024 Sir Robert William Askin Operatic Scholarship and has performed in concert with Cheryl Barker AO, Jane Rutter and Peter Cousens. In his career he has been directed by Peter Coleman-Wright AO, Gale Edwards AM, Clemmence Williams, Christine Logan and David Berthold. Furthermore, he has been conducted by David Angus, Stephen Mould and Elizabeth Scott. In 2024, Angus also undertook masterclasses with Erin Helyard and Anna Steiger as part of Pacific Opera Studio’s Young Artist Program.
